Each species has a unique foot structure. Because FIT is a system based on foot geometry, the FIT algorithm (used to identify individuals) must be customised for each species. To do this, we collect footprints from animals in captivity, whose identity is known. We are currently working on the development of many species algorithms with captive animals, and our new project FIT base has been developed to streamline this process.
